Weight Loss Fail! And a Curvy Heroine...

So Thanksgiving weekend was a disaster, food-wise.

There's a pattern. I start out by telling myself I need to eat what everyone else is eating, in order to connect with others, because people are more important than diets. No one can argue with that, right?

pizzaSo, yes, my daughter and I DID have frozen pizza together on Thanksgiving Day. And before you feel sorry for her, or us, let me explain that it was her idea, because we were having our family gathering the next day. So pizza and Netflix and decorating for Christmas was just what we wanted. And it was yummy!

But then things went downhill, food-wise. Of course, we had a big dinner the next day when the family came in. And I had to eat everything just to be social, right? Appetizers and chips and desserts, oh my! I ended up in a weight/body image spiral I'm only now climbing out of. Of which, more soon.

It's a new week! Time to remember Philippians 3, 13-14:  “One thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.… ” Time to remember that real fulfillment doesn't come from snack foods, but from the spirit.

Since thinking about the scale and past mistakes is sort of depressing, let me share some good news! The next Sacred Bond novel is almost ready for release. God willing, it'll be available on Amazon December 15th, and on other e-platforms shortly after.

HerReunionBond200x300This book is really special to me because it has a heroine who struggles with her weight. Wendy is a busy special needs teacher and foster mom who loves ice cream and has moved up a couple of sizes since her high school days. When she's forced to work closely with her super handsome ex boyfriend who knew her when she was thin . . . it's definitely a challenge. Things get even more complicated when Wendy finds out that Daniel thinks she's even more beautiful with a few years and a few curves on her. Because getting close to Daniel again means letting him in on her big, awful secret . . .
