Excited. Blessed. Grateful. Eager to get started.

Those were some of my feelings as I signed a new book contract. 

Because I've written a lot of books, you might think that signing a new contract wouldn't be exciting. You'd be wrong. Every time, I'm mindful of how fortunate I am that I get to do work I love, and that readers continue to enjoy my books. It's a real privilege to provide readers with an escape from their troubles and to offer a few carefree, uplifting moments in the midst of busy days. 

It took me a long time and a lot of sweat and tears to get to the point of being offered regular book contracts. I wrote manuscript after manuscript, sometimes getting form rejection letters, sometimes “revise-and-resubmit” requests that still ended up receiving a “no” vote from an acquiring editor. That's why I so appreciate getting a “yes” today, and why it's still a thrill. 

Ever since Love Inspired launched in 1997, I wanted to write for the line. Romantic, emotional stories with happy endings plus a strong faith element… yes. Exactly my thing. It wasn't until 2014 that I finally received a contract. In 2015, Engaged to the Single Mom came out, and I haven't looked back. 

This new contract is for eight books, which will keep me busy through 2027. The first four are holiday-themed, small-town stories set in rural Pennsylvania. The last four… who knows? I have more ideas than I have time, so it'll be a matter of choosing the right one at the right time. 

I'm incredibly grateful to my editors who offer me contracts and then help the books shine, and to my readers who continue to buy, read, and share my books. Thank you, than, you, thank you!
