I'm overjoyed to announce that I've just signed a contract to write a brand new series for HQN! Set on a small island on the Chesapeake Bay, it's a trilogy featuring three foster brothers who come home to help their foster mother spruce up the tumbledown farmhouse where they spent their teenage years. Of course, they find love in the process! Series title is Hometown Brothers, and the tentative title of book one is The Forever Farmhouse.Â
I'm so grateful for the opportunity to write three more of the kind of uplifting, positive books my readers enjoy. I don't take it for granted! HQN/HarperCollins is my dream publisher. Their art department is amazing, as you can see from my past book covers, and their sales team is tremendously skilled at getting my books into reader's hands via national stores like Walmart and Barnes and Noble. My editorial team, including Shana Asaro and Susan Swinwood, is a joy to work with.Â
I'm passionate about these books and I hope they offer readers the chance to escape from their worries and problems into a warm, caring community where everything is guaranteed to turn out happily ever after.
Look for them starting in August, 2022!

Hi Lee, this is Sue Albrecht Evans. I hope u remember me from the Clintonville area. I remember when we were kids, riding our bikes with Wendy Wickliffe. I have lost touch with Wendy unfortunately. My life has been great, but I have had a lot of illness. I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and Cataplexy shortly after starting my education at OSU. After a few years, I still wasn’t on the correct medications, thus, failing in college. So I quit and started working at the Defense Construction Supply Center on the east side of Columbus. Long story short, I went out on disability retirement when I was 29. I knew something else was wrong with me. It wasn’t until I was 36 that I was finally diagnosed with MS. I had just gotten married to Jeff Evans. Thank God he and I r still together. I went thru a period of almost 5 years of being in a wheelchair. Finally I decided to try Botox injections in my bad leg. (My bad leg was in a bent position, like I was sitting). Finally with Botox I was able to stand again. Even walking now with a cane. I am very happy, although my life did not turn out as I had planned. Enough of my woes.lol I have been talking to Melva Fisher a lot lately. When I lived on E. Dominion, the Fisher family lived on E. Weishiemer and
were my back door neighbors. The Fisher family as in Steve Fisher. He is now being treated for multiple myeloma. Terrible illness and if he makes it, he will b under medical care for the next several years. He doesn’t live in Columbus any longer. If u want to communicate with him, just let me know and I can forward u his address and, or Email. Take care and congratulations on your book writings. So very happy 😊 for you.
I fell in love with the Off Season series and am so excited and look forward to the Hometown Brothers trilogy . Thank you , your a great writer with a special gift to uplift your readers .
